Coaches

Coaches play a vital role in TECSkills and a nominated Coach must be allocated to each learner before they can be registered to TECSkills training. The Coaches can either be a nominated member of staff at the learner's company or for companies that are unable to provide their own Coaches, peripatetic Coaches will be available – all of whom will have completed an ECITB approved Coaches course.

Before a learner can be registered for TECSkills training, the Coach will assess the individual's training needs and a training plan will then be set in place. A key responsibility of the Coach is to monitor the progress of the learner against the training plan. The Coach must review, and if necessary, update the training plan when a leaner progresses from off-the-job to on-the-job training. A member of ECITB staff will also be allocated as a Monitor to support the Coach.

Having Coaches allocated to support the learners is a huge benefit to both the individual and employing company as it enhances both the quality and efficiency of training delivery.
